Anti-Corrosive Coatings - DOV® ZINC ZR

Epoxy- DOV® Zinc Rich coating system for reinforcement bars and as priming coat for structural steel in saline and chemically corrosive environments. Active zinc in the coating combats corrosion by electrochemical means. Can also be used for protection of re-bars in highly corrosive environments. Highly recommended for use on re-bars in RCC in coastal conditions.
Mix and application: Mix the contents of Part A & Part B in their respective containers before pouring the entire contents (for consistent results do not part mix) into a third container and mix to a homogenous consistency of uniform shade. Apply on to the prepared surface- one coat when used as a primer and two coats for rebar.

  • Apply one coat of Dovcoat Flex (diluted with water @ 500ml per Kg) at the rate of 10-12 m2 per liter.
  • Allow it to dry for 2-3 hours.
  • Apply the first coat of Dovcoat Flex diluted with water @ 250ml per Kg) at the rate of 2 m2 per Kg and allow it to dry before taking up the second coat, the rate of application being the same.
  • Drying time between coats will be 6 to 8 hours.
  • Ensure that the primer and the 2 coats of Dovcoat Flex totally achieve a minimum thickness of 1 mm DFT.
  • Allow the system to air cure for 7 days minimum

Cracks in concrete must be repaired as soon as possible. 

  • Waterproofing: It will solve the water-dripping problem immediately using DOV Crack filler, If the rains have already begun, get the roof waterproofed and later get the proper work done.
  • DOV Crack filler with DOV Flex waterproof coating: I personally suggest you to go for this. It takes less time and is a proper permanent and suitable method. The method includes:
  1. Cleaning of the crack surface and removing any type of oily dirt or contaminants.
  2. Widen the crack just a little to allow the grouting to occur at a faster pace.
  3. Fill the DOV crack filler in the cracked surface (or  DOV  Epoxy Injection) and seal the surfaces immediately to prevent epoxy gel from falling off. If Epoxy grouting cannot be done, you can do the same using DOV Flex with water, ONLY if the crack is shallow and not widening. When the gel dries up properly, paint the roof to give it a proper finish and to protect it from dust and water.
